We are passionate about music and presenting our Oregon artists here in Beaverton, so we are inaugurating our first outdoor concert on the lawn at the Hoffman Farms Store’s Butler Barn. Bring your blanket, your picnic and enjoy an evening with us at The Barn. 

ACT 1: 6:30-7:30, ARCTURUS WIND QUINTET

Join us for an hour of entertaining repertoire and virtuosic playing by the members of the Arcturus Wind Quintet: Martha Long, flute; Karen Wagner, Oboe; James Shields, clarinet; Joe Berger, horn; and Steve Vacchi, guest bassoon! It’s the wild and wonderful world of woodwind wizardry! Relax on the lawn, have a picnic, and enjoy a perfect prelude concert to ACT 2...

ACT 2: 7:45-9:00 PM, AN EVENING OF SONG AND JAZZ WITH SUSANNAH MARS AND FRIENDS.

Actor, recording artist, singer, cabaret performer (and so many other things), Susannah Mars is a Portland treasure. For over 30 years, Susannah has graced the stages of Portland Opera, the Oregon Symphony, Artists Repertory Theater (where she serves as a resident artist) and many other companies nationwide. Her appearance at The Barn will feature Broadway tunes, selections from The American Song Book, and jazz standards. She will be accompanied by a trio that will include (rumor has it) one Niel DePonte on drums.

Maybe you saw her on NBC’s Grimm as Drew Wu’s psychiatrist, Dr. Richet. Ms. Mars is the recipient of six Portland Drama Critics awards and two Portland Area Music Theatre Awards.  Her recordings Susannah Mars, Call It Home; The Music of Richard Gray, and the MAC nominated Take Me To The World are available on iTunes, where you can also subscribe to her podcast Adventures In Artslandia.
