Trio Del Mar

Martha Long

Principal Flute of the
Oregon Symphony

Marilyn de Oliveira

Assistant Principal Cello of
the Oregon Symphony

Maria Garcia

Piano

Our program begins in Spain with a short work by Gabriel Cassadó, before moving to Japan and France—the birthplace of living composer Yuko Uebayashi. Uebayashi's compositional style weaves her Japanese heritage, the French tradition, and cinematic musical moments into a delightfully modern voice. The final work, Carl Maria von Weber's Trio in G Minor, explores Weber's operatic flair for drama.

Trio Parallel

Ron Blessinger

First Violin of the
Oregon Symphony

Marilyn de Oliveira

Assistant Principal Cello of
the Oregon Symphony

Yoko Greeney

Piano

Our program focuses on the   great Russian composer Pyotor Tchaikovsky. Tchaikovsky's piano trio in A minor is the only piece he wrote for this combination of instruments. A monumental work with many parts, it is a tour de force for the musicians and has been a favorite of audiences for over 100 years.  It is followed by a brief and joyful encore by the Argentinian composer Astor Piazzola.
