Ben returns to Portland to play a recital of his favorite repertoire in the barn’s most intimate presentation yet. In 1996, Ben made his orchestral debut, with Niel DePonte conducting, as a 12-year-old young artist. Ben has gone on to become an internationally acclaimed concert pianist, having won Germany's prestigious ARD Piano Competition in 2006. You don’t want to miss the return of one of Portland’s most accomplished musical artists, making his first appearance at The Barn, performing Debussy, Chopin and more.

We are passionate about presenting our Oregon artists here in Beaverton, so we are inaugurating our first outdoor concert on the lawn at the Hoffman Farms Store’s Butler Barn. Bring your blanket, your picnic and enjoy an evening with us at The Barn.
Act 1: Join us for an hour of entertaining repertoire and virtuoso playing by the members of the Arcturus Wind Quintet whose players come from the ranks of the Oregon Symphony winds.
Act 2: Susannah Mars' appearance at The Barn will feature Broadway tunes, selections from The American Song Book, and jazz standards, accompanied by the Niel DePonte Trio.

Prices vary according to Tier (VIP or General Admission). Tickets must be purchased in advance no later than Tuesday at noon on the day before each event. Printed tickets must be shown to gain entry.

Our intimate setting offers only 230 seats inside the beautiful, open air Butler Barn (even more for our Outdoor Spectacular). No matter where you’re seated you’re no more than 40 feet from Portland's world-class musicians. These artists from our hometown deserve to be heard year-round and many of these phenomenal players perform with the Oregon Symphony. Our concert series is all about letting our greatest Oregon artists shine. Before the concert, enjoy convivial moments on the picnic lawn. What better way to enjoy our quintessential summer evenings?

Your Host: Niel Deponte

In his 45 years in the performing arts, arts education, and non-profit management, Niel DePonte has seen, participated in, and led many of the most significant changes in the arts in Oregon. Formerly the principal percussionist for the Oregon Symphony and currently music director and conductor for Oregon Ballet Theatre, DePonte Creativity Partners is Niel's new non-profit organization bringing you his latest visionary project, The Concerts at the Barn. Join him for this reverie of chamber music in a quintessential Oregon setting – the Butler Barn at Hoffman Farms Store's 200-acre berry farm in Beaverton.

6:00 PM Gates Open
Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy a pre-concert glass of wine or a bottle of water, as pre-show music fills the air. All beverages must be purchased on site. (As we are going indoors to our finished barn for the performance please limit outside food brought to the venue. Also, indoor restrooms are available near the barn).

After purchasing your tickets, you received an email from us with your table number. Meet new friends or purchase 8 seats and bring your own! (The earlier you order tickets the closer you are to the front, but the barn has excellent acoustics).
(Please note: We will be following the Governor's Covid guidelines at that time. The Barn is open on one side, but if masks are required please be sure to bring yours. We will position tables as far apart as space allows).
